Whats that thing sticking off the air cleaner?
My friend just bought a 73 ford f100 2wd pickup with a 460 out of a 73 lincoln contininel, There is a blue oil filter looking canister sticking off of the back side of the air cleaner housing. Does anyone know what this is? thanks in advance!

Hey ---- the 1976 Lincoln Continental I just sold to AirHarley with a 460 in it had the same thing. It attracted lots of attention....
I'm clueless....maybe you could go over to the Lincoln Continental forum and somebody there would be of assistance to you?...
Now the 1986 460 I put into Harrison that came from an E350 van did not have that "oil filter looking thingy" on it and it was all completely stock...

It's your PCV filter. It is the same stamping they use to make the oil filter, from what I've heard. Also, I think to renew it you repack it, it can't be removed to replace. Pretty much unique to the 460, I have seen them on T-birds, too.
