Shif Lever
On my way through rush hour traffic tonight my shftlever broke right at the top bolt. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? It is enough to make me just a little peeved. Does anyone know how much a ne **** lever sosts? I have a 99 F 250 PSD with a six speed. an early build date.
Do you mean it broke off at the top of the shaft where the shift **** connects? Or, down at the bottom where the shaft connects to the tranny? In either case, THAT IS DEFINITELY WEIRD! Must be that I-25 traffic from Denver, past Englewood and into Douglas County! (yep, been there; done that!). Or, was it the I-70 Westbound past Golden on your way to the micro-breweries in Idaho Springs? Or perhaps "someone" (?) is jammin' that stick shift a bit too hard???
If it's the **** that came off the top of the shift shaft, then it depends if the threads on the **** are stripped or not? Or, if the end of the shaft came off inside the shift ****, you're hatin' life and probably lookin' at replacing the shifter and the ****.
