damn.. broke a bracket..

I changed out the fuel filter and i managed to break off one of the bolts on the metal bracket that the plastic cover sits on when i unscrewed it. Does anyone happen to know the part number?

this kinda brings me to my next question, where can i get a decently priced factory assembly manual for my truck?

Can't help you on the part number.......mine is broken also. It's pretty stupid to design something that has to be removed.....then make it out of cheap steel that does nothing but rust. What I'm going to do with mine is remove the bracket......cut the bolts off flush......center punch each, and drill them out. Then thread the holes and install some nice stainless steel replacements with lock washers from the bottom and another stainless nut on the top. You may as well forget trying to get that broken stud out of the acron nut. Better to just get some new ones. When I do....I'll get some high temp grease, and fill those new nuts.....the domes are hallow. That way the threads won't rust and seize again. While I've got the bracket off....I'll wire brush it down, and apply some good old Rustolium.
If you scan Ebay......there are complete "real" shop manuals. If you don't want to put up with the weight....you can usually pick up the Ford maintainence manual on CD for around $20 which is a pretty good deal for what you get. I get the CD everytime I get a different vehicle to maintain.....wife's......oldest daughter's.....younger daughter's......
Hope this give you some ideas.

Sounds like we are both members of that club. I've lost count of how many cars I've fixed up for family members.

I've seen that act, but only at a circus. I was fortunate enough to have my parents keep the TV out of the house and force me to go outside and discover real life.

I did some of both......that was a time I'll always harbor fond memories of.
