Speed Limits

I have a 03 Ford Ranger XLT w/4.0 in it. The question is "Is the speed limiter just connected to the electric fuel pump and the computer shuts it down to maintain 91 M.P.H.?"

Umm I don't really know, but it would be much more effective to just stop some of the injectors from putting fuel into the engine.

The speed limiter is programmed into the computer mapping, so pretty much everything branching out from the computer can be affected.

If I know what you are getting to, yes, you still need to get a chip (and be specific about at least upping the limiters) to get by this stuff.

Suspect it's tied to fuel injection. Do you find that you "bounce" off the speed limiter? Like surging? Chip it.
