I don't have an '04 but I do have a 90 Bronco II! I used to use turtle wax but got tired of acting like the grasshopper from the Karate Kid. Wipe on.. wipe off.. wipe on.. wipe off. But now days I go with Meguires.
The best wax I have used is called finish first. You can leave it on all night and it still comes off easy.Directions say leaving on longer is better.A little pricey at 20 bucks a can but worth it imo.
I own a metallic silver 84 and a black 88 car. Bought them both new and I still drive 'em around, but a bit less now that I have the truck which I've been waiting to get for soooo long.
I've used nothing but paste carnauba wax on a religious, periodic basis all these years and both still outshine just about everybody except for brand new cars in the parking lot. That wax would include specifically Meguires and Eagle One (which I don't see anymore). An occasional light polish cleans off the dead paint and restores the mirror finish. I don't go to the extent of using the multiple 10-step cleaner, wax, sealer, microglaze etc, etc. that's good for competition since these are my daily drivers.
Unfortunately, the paint looks better than the rest of the car since I've got door dings and scuff marks from all the bloody morons who *must* park next to me, deteriorating plastic, and pieces falling off already :-(
Don't know how those spray-on spray-off stuff works, but based on my history, I'll continue to stick with my paste. It works, and it lasts.
Hey, I thought a truck isn't a truck unless it's got mud all over it?
whats the difference between paste and the liquid?
im switching back to zymol wax its the best stuff i ever used even the cheap walmart ones i think work a lot better than goldclass or ntx or mothers etc.
I've only seen Zymol Polish, which i love for it's shine but horrible at surface renewal. I've had excellent results the last few years with the Mother's system. Every spring I do a Claybar, followed immediately by a Sealer & Glaze, followed the next weekend by solid Carnuba wax with styrofoam application pad. Lot of elbow grease but fantastic results. I'll occasionally throw a Zymol top coat during the summer months, just to "deepen" the paint. If you don't do the claybar, the pre-wax cleaner works well, but not as thoroughly as the clay.
This truck is new, so i'm not into all these steps yet. I'll seal and glaze it in a month and put a good coat of wax on it for the winter.
I use Meguires on my white, then use the California Duster between washes to remove road dust and grime. My buddy does the same on his black and they both look great 99% of the time. Bug juice and road tar wipe away with a little car wash liquid. Of course they're both FOOORRRDDD's (a little nostalgia for those Ford fans from the late 50's)

Interesting you mention that about Eagle One- I was looking for their tire & wheel cleaner yesterday (in the orange spray bottle) and couldn't find it anywhere. Best stuff I've used, I'll miss it- I bought some Prestone stuff and tried to clean some Yokohama's I bought as take offs, and had to clean the tire butter that had baked on them. The Eagle One took a few swipes with my tire brush, and rinsed to new appearance. The Prestone did nothing at all.
I've used Maguires religiously so I can't rightfully recommend anything except some pink wax in a clear bottle that I can't remember the name of right now... That was good stuff, and wouldn't leave white residue on the trim
I use Zaino on my and my wife's vehicles, and Meguiar's Professional Products on the rest of the extended family's cars and trucks that I detail. I've had very good luck with them. As far as Meguiar's Consumer Line, I haven't had the positive experiences that others have had.
