Bore and Stroke??
#2
boring doesnt do much for power. its there to clean up the cylinder bores to make them true, clean and crosshatched.
stroking the 300 is useless. its already a 4.00" stroke. the cranksfhat would need to be offset ground and custom rods would be needed. Clifford has a stroker kit...note the term, HAD.
SilverStreak mentioned he had a stroker kit in his skunkworks but kept hush hush about it. in theroy it could work but the 300 is set up good as it is. its an almost square engine which, IIRC, is good for making oodles of torque and being efficent.

I never had a kit, I just have some ideas I want to try. I'm pretty sure I can get around 350 cubes without getting real exotic. Just have to get time. I don't think I was very hush hush about the stroker stuff. I'm pretty sure all my thoughts are documented here. There are some intake, exhaust and other things I'm reluctant to disclose until I get results. Getting my timing gears changed is the next thing on the list. Looks like I'm gonna have to settle for coarse tooth gears. The only place I found fine tooth listed was on Comp's website and that was a lie.
