I have an '05 F250 CC with the 5.4. My wife started the truck to leave the store and it stalled on her. She restarted it and it ran very rough for the 1 mile ride home.
I went out and started it and the engine runs very rough with raw fuel coming out the tailpipe. The truck only has 1800 miles on it.
I guess it could be a bad "COP", I know that mine lost one @ 25000 miles. They could go at any time. Sounds like, considering the mileage, it is time for the dealer to figure it out for you! Good luck!
Well the sage continues. The dealer replaced two injectors and spark plugs. They started the engine and heard valve train noise. They now say that some of the lifters collapsed probably due to fuel in the oil. They have to order lifters. I have a sinking feeling that this engine will not be reliable in the future. I have already filed a complaint with Ford customer relations and told them I want a new truck. On top of that, I had to cancel a camping vacation due to no tow vehicle and will have to rent a car in the meantime. Ford will not provide a loaner car. This sucks!
If their was that much fuel in the oil to cause lifter colapse.think about bearings and cylinder walls and piston rings.
Push for new engine hard ! New truck I doubt it!
I'd tell them stop working on it and bring in a ford rep and discuss.
Sorry but this has an ugly feeling to it.
