I have a Lab/Irish Setter mix named Homer. I named him after Homer Simpson because when he was 7 weeks old, I was trying to figure out a good name for him other than "hey,....you!", when he chased his tail , caught it and bit down so hard it made him cry as if to say, "damn, that's attached to me". It was truly a Simpson moment.
Neighbors Afghan was giving birth to a litter of pups, and my girls were there helping. One pup had paws that were easily twice the size of all the other pups in the litter, so they named him "Bigfoot." Seven weeks later he came to live at our house- and constantly tripped over those paws while the kids said, "Aw dad, he won't get that big." At a year, he dwarfed both our Labs. Now, at five, he weighs in at about a buck-forty, and can put his muzzle on the dining room table to see what's for dinner. He's in my gallery under "misc pics."
i have a white german shepard/???? mix his name is buster, he was my grandpas dog and he named every big dog buster. i have a full blood black lab(short hair) name foster, becuase my parents like to drink the beer fosters....ya....oook so when i call one dog they both come to me. the white one so hyper in the mornings its unbelievable, see my avatar he literally flys after me like that, ill start 100ft in front of him and by the time i hit the tile 10 ft in front of me hes on my heals, he makes my lab look like a toy dog!!
Our female German Shepherd Dog is named Nikita, from the movie La Femme Nikita. The Rat Terrier is named Trixie, from a character in the the Honeymooners tv show.
Well, I have several pets, so here we go. Our dalmatian- he's named "Spooky' for a character that was in the "X-Files". Next, the kids brought a stray home 8 yrs ago and they named her "Tippie" because she has a white tip at the end of her tail. We adopted a chocolate lab/mix and he was already named "Charlie", so couldn't change that one. Our parrots name is "Max"-don't know why the kids named it that.-Then there's our cat...the kids named her "Precious" but she only responds to "Kitty", so there you have it....my menagerie of animals
It seems all my (family) animals have grown into their names...
I named this little orange kitten my sister and I found Zort the Wonder Cat, taking inspiration from the cartoon Pinky and the Brain. He now is a wonder cat, having barely survived having his jaw broken for a while... he's our bionic cat.
We found a black kitten and I named her Loki, after the Norse god of mischief. She kills birds and squirrels and likes to stalk Thor and I when we're out on walks.
Thor was named after Thorin Oakenshield from the Hobbit. The Norse god of thunder happens to be called Thor... and one day when he was just a little pup we were outside in a big storm and he was just walking around, lightning and thunder and rain and he wasn't scared. He's not scared of anything, and he's HUGE (120 lbs)
My little sister named these twin orange cats Tator and Tot, and sure enough, they're annoying to adults and you'll never find one without the other. Not sure if they taste good with ketchup yet though... (jk)

CobraGT40, we used to have an iguana too! The kids named it "Iggy"(real original, I know). Anyway! we had him for quite awhile, used to let him loose in the house. He used to go up the drapes to the top of the curtain rod. We made him a platform up there, eventually. After awhile, he started wandering other places in the house ( like we didn't see this coming? ) Finally had to give him away. -
