My last dog was German Shepherd named Asko. The name just popped into my head when I was bringing him home from the breeder's, and it took me a few days to remember where I'd heard it. When I lived up in Shasta county, there was a well-known and popular police dog on the RPD named Asko, who was killed in the line of duty. The name just stuck there in my head for several years till I needed it. Here's a pic:
my last dog was a blue heeler/lab mix, his name was Deimos, after the greek god of terror. deimos, with his brother Phobos (god of fear), would accompany their father Ares, god of war, to the battlefield.
3 Pugs 1. George, usually called Punkin, cause he is about 20 pounds over weight and his head looks like a pumpkin.
2. Ottis, he is retarded and came from wifes girlfriend who died and we adopted.
3. Little girl, usually called miss piggy, cause she thinks any and all food put out is for her.
1 cat. Kitty Boo. Beautiful orange, tiger striped cat my wife picked up as a stray. He was smaller than a beer can when she brought him home and we thought he was a she till we took it to the vet to have it fixed. Usually call him Boo.
My wife and I have a 5 year old red Beagle/Chow mix we named "Killian" yes as in the beer. My wife is Irish. What can I say.
We also have a Cockateel named "Crash". When we were on our way back from the pet store almost 13 years ago some jerk ran a red light and hit our car in the front and ran, the bird and cage went flying.

I've got a Chihuahua named Charger after the NFL team in my hometown. Energetic little dog, but not a shaker or yippie like most of them. Looks like a mini-beagle.
Yup, we did the same thing with our last pound dogs. Whatever they were calling them at the pound is what we worked with. Not too hard, huh?
Decided to call my Mini Schnauzer "Misty". Her AKC name is "Frau Mistique Blucher". That way, I can call her Misty or just for laughs, "Frau Blucher" (sound of horses whinnying). If you love the movie "Young Frankenstein", you'll know what I'm talking about.
Female Irish Setter - Bailey (no particular reason, but Bailey's Irish Cream sounds good)
Male Black Lab - Guiness (again, no particular reason, but they sound good together)
Guilded Irish Sport Horse - Mullinivat (aka Mully) for the Irish town he was raised in
We've had cats too, but don't seem to be able to keep 'em round (two have recently gone MIA). I think they are just serving as fox and/or coyote food (maybe a hawk too?), neighbors apparently have the same problem. . .
Well, I have 4 dogs right now, 3 are King Charles Cavalier spaniels, so went with a royalty kind of them on a couple, Have Liz, (Elizabeth) Charley, and used to have a male named Romeo. Then Pugsley because of her almost pug nose, and Junior is a Bichon/Cavalier cross. The the cats are JD (mother was CD) and Sam.
I have a three year old German Shep. His name is Ford. I had a Female German Shep named Shelby, after Carroll Shelby. We bred the dogs to sell to our friends. We named each of the pups after a Ford, Super Duty, Power Stroke, Explorer, Expidition, and Sally (for Mustang Sally). All my friends thought I was nuts and renamed all the dogs after we sold them.
We have female Jack Russell named "Tootsie". Best dog ever. This weekend almost lost son, his wife , grandson & granddaughter to house fire. Only thing saved them was dog. At 4 am room was filling with smoke, dog woke up grandson. He woke up parents & sister. They got out with only their underwear & one cell phone. Thank God for dogs. They lost two other dogs to fire but dog that saved them is OK. DOGS RULE!!!!!!!!!!
