on my 79 f-250 4x4, i had national spring put on all new springs with about a 2-2.5" lift. had to install a new pitman arm. {drop down} It would be helpfull if we knew what year and how high you want to lift your truck.
I was just wondering if our trucks had steering arms. I know I need a drop down pitman arm on my 79 with my 6" lift, but I heard about a steering arm and was just wondering if our truck have them. I know chebbys have them, but didn't know if our trucks had them.

I was looking at my truck tonight with one of my chebby buddys. Both of our trucks have D44 front ends, and both have what he calls a stearing arm. I am wanting about a 4" lift, and was planning on a drop down pitman. He said I needed a raised stearing arm. From my electrician's eye *****, It looks like eather will work, but I will talk to someone that knows befor I do anything.
I've seen guys that lift chebbys and put a steering arm, because of the lift, but I haven't heard this being done to a ford. So I was just wondering if we had one, and if I needed a drop down steering arm and a drop down pitman arm.
If it's a dana 60 front axle, you can buy a block kit to raise the arm. I've never seen a raised arm for one. If it's a dana 44 you can buy a block or a raised arm for those.
