new drip

I just replaced my lower radiator hose. Seems to work good, but I noticed a drip of water falling on the stater and dripping to the ground. I can't really figure out where this water would be coming from. Why would there be water dripping towards the rear of the engine? It will only drip when it warms up a little(like after driving about 5 to 10 miles) and it seems to stop after it cools down. It drips about 2 or 3 cups of water. Does anyone know where this is coming from?

*note*-I have a 351m in a 1978 f100 ranger

thanx

Check the intake gasket, sometime it will leak on the rear. Also check the hoses that connect to the rear of the heater core.

You mentioned stater, I assume you meant starter ?

Look at the connections to the heater core on the firewall.

Wink

Was the hose disconnected from the heater core? Where is that hose running to at this time? Does the antifreeze look rusty?

Check the round freeze plugs and the the rear portion of the the intake gaskets for any leaks.

freezplug = softplug, they are the same deal... if one is worn out it will leak, and they can be a bear to change in a vehicle, in this one it shouldnt be, i have a 78 f250 with a 351m and its pretty open, find out where the leak is comming from for sure and i can help you through replaceing freezplugs
