so from my other topic i got my truck running again. while i'm driving sometimes it acts like it wants to stall my rpm gauge jumps it has stalled on me twice.
but i have new problems i did some codes and this it what i got.
how can i fix these problems .
memory code87 fuel pump primary circuit malfunction
memory code33 egr valve no flow detected.
memory code63 tps/pedal position below min voltage
The place to start when you get a laundry list of codes like that is to focus on the KOEO codes. Because they are hard faults set with the engine off, they almost certainly represent electrical faults.
KOEO 87: Represents either an open circuit or short to ground in the fuel pump/fuel pump monitor circuit. Because the engine runs, this implies that the fuel pump circuit is intact (or intact enough of the time to run the engine). Get a wiring diagram and check the wiring between the fuel pump circuit and the computer.
KOEO 34: There's a fault in the EGR sensor's circuit. There are many flavors of EGR sensor out there, in the case of the 2.9, I believe it's called a PFE (Pressure Feedback EGR) sensor. Make sure the wiring between the PFE sensor and the computer is intact, and make sure the sensor outputs a reasonable value (anything 0-5 V and varies with engine speed and load).
so where should i start from the fuel pump itself or the fuel pump relay checking out both lines positive and negative. can i make another negative ground connection and place it on the pump.
evp sensor i just changed it no more code not even memory code wiring diagram for an 87 does anyone have one . and if so how do you read it.?
ok i checked and fixed some codes but still the have the primary one
now i get only koeo 87 not even memory code 87 just koeo code
so far i know the fuel pump works fine and the ecc and fuel pump relay work great getting power to them both . it's somewhere in between
I would really suspect it's in the fuel pump monitor circuit. I don't have a good wiring diagram, but I think it's supposed to be pin 8. Ken, do any of your wiring diagrams show which pin is assigned to fuel pump monitor?
