Theory On Rough Idle
I have come to a conclusion...The 351M/400 just idles rough, thats all there is to it. You can get it pretty smooth but I hear that the engine is equipped with a cam that just causes it to run that way....I am not trying to break a rule in here but a similar engine the Ch**y 355 idles the same way. I am now satisfied with my engine.

How smooth is it supposed to be? It's a truck, and a 70's truck at that!
I've got a 351M in the collection. It has headers and idles pretty darn good. Sounds like a boat, but it idles pretty good.
