I got the tranny back in my truck but I have got a few problems with it. I can't find reverse and the neutral safety switch isn't working. I kept thinking that the tranny wasn't going into park all the way but it is. Im stumped. It would be nice to have a warranty but I had it rebuilt in my high school auto shop. I need cylinder heads too. I think I will have to sell my truck. It would be a good project for somebody. I do want another 4x4. My current one just needs to much work that I don't have the money for. Any way I can get the tranny to work so I can at least sell the truck for a decent price?
What I mean by I can't find reverse is that when I move through the gear shift it won't go into reverse. I have been told to put the rear end on jack stands and block up the front wheels and go through the gears manually which is what I will do.
Check the linkage at the transmission without the gearshift connected. be very carefull when you get that truck in the air. Think Safety, use proper jack stands and blocking.

Well I got the gears run through. Out of the 6 positions I am suppose to have on the gear shift I have four N-D-2-1. P-R-N-D-2-1 is what its suppose to be but something is wrong somewhere. Anybody got some ideas on what needs to be done to this thing.
Find out where the limitation is coming from, either the neutral safety switch or internal. If it is internal someone didn't get something back together right.
