Yeah I'd say that sounds quite a bit too, which local parts store is that price from??
That one was from CarQuest. About the only things I buy from them anymore are bolts, and brass. They do have a complete line of brass for all of my SD projects. And here's the kicker.....they are cheaper than anyone in that department. Go figure.
I know the shipping thing is a bitch, but we've set up the site for wholesalers who, for the most part, buy by the case - of course, we've found the retail side of the website to be a nice perk.
With our site, the more you buy, the better the deal. A single filter on our site won't be that fantastic with shipping added, but buy a bunch of filters and you'll come out way ahead.
Feel free to e-mail us if you want filters that aren't on the site.
Brian,
There are those here that will use only motorcraft.
Does wix make motorcraft and then put the stamp on them or is MC a completly different entity all their own?

Wix and Napa filters are the same. Take any Wix filter drop the 1st number and you have the Napa number. Example Wix 51515 is a Napa 1515. These are excellent filters.
my local autozone matches prices, i wonder if they can order wix filters for me..
I may be wrong.....but if you go into Autozone and pick up one of their filters, and read the fine print on the back, or elswhere.....it will say built for Autozone by WIX....they do alot of that for various parts houses that want to sell under their own name.
Let us know if they'll do a price match.....that would be funny and interesting at the same time.

Yes some Wix filters are reboxed as MC, but I couldn't tell you how consistent that is - one week MC buys their filters from Wix and the next week Wix buys some filters from MC, and the next week MC buys from Purolator, and the next week Purolator buys from Wix. That's the state of the filter business these days.
All quality filters (including Wix) meetor exceed OE specs these days - meaning that the filter ratings are the same as or better than what Ford dictates. So if the FleetGuard, Purolator, Donaldson, MotorCraft, and Wix filters do the same job equally as well (equal or over OE specs), then why pay $40 for a filter that costs $15 online? Welcome to the new age - it's not the product that sets companies apart anymore, it's the price and the service.
As for listing the pre-97 trucks, we haven't because the demand for the most part has been geared toward the 2000 and newer diesels. E-mail us, and I'll gladly tell you those part numbers.
Lastly, if AutoZone price matches the internet, I'll be stunned. We sell these filters below normal cost because of our volume. And if they do match it, make sure it's not a low-quality filter.
My local Napa guys both have PSD's a '94 and an '01 Ex. and when they asked why I needed three of the filters and what I ran them on they were like REALLY??? so now I got the local Napa guys running them too.

I second FleetFilterBrian...IMO, Autozone sells a lot of junk... like those cheap aftermarket parts made by APC and some other low quality brands. That's why I started buying a lot of my stuff at NAPA for the quality. And now that I know that FleetFilter has the exact same filter has from NAPA, but at a lower price...then what's the point on making the trip to NAPA....?

So what your saying is.......you don't have a set of those "bling bling" wheel covers on your truck....the kind that keep on spinning? Or a cool lookin cobra head on your shifter....the kind where the eyes light up everytime you step on the brake?.......man.......
