Trans on 300

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 16-Dec-02 AT 04:15 PM (EST)]Trans on truck was slipping a bit inbetween gears.. Decided to take a look to make sure that it wasn't my linkage loose.. Took a good look at the Trans and Looks like I have a c6 trans.. double checked a couple of places to make sure. Isn't a c6 trans a bit odd to have on a 300inline? I'm thinking someone swapped it out.. does not have bolt on bell houseing.

F100 custom 76 btw

my 79 came factory with a 300 and a c-6.

Not very odd. I have seen them, but mostly on vans. Even all the way up to fuel injection. Most of the Grumann delivery trucks that have a six in them have an EFI 300-6, with a c6 behind it. As far as the slip, though, it sounds like broken accumulator springs, or sticking accumulators.
