My wife's a little on the short side (5') and she has a hard time getting into my truck. Anybody have a suggestion for a good quality step to add to the truck so she can jump in a bit easier?
honestly i would stay away from tubed step bars b/c they tend to rust out very quickly and look bad + they are expensive. i would try to find a simple small step.
There are some fiberglass and aluminum ones that look pretty nice. Tube bars aren't bad. Some just come with a crappy paint or rust from the inside out(no caps on ends). You'll get that with alot of things. I've seen some that are over 20 years old that don't look bad and others that are 2 years old that are about to rust off.
I'll go with what timberwerks has said. I installed a set of Hoop 11's a couple of years ago. My bride is pretty short arsed as well at about 5' even. The Hoops work great and really maintain a nice clean look without a whole lot of care and attention. They have tarnished a bit over time, not bad though and I have never cleaned them other than with the pressure washer. I thought that they were a good deal for the $$$$.
Your wife would appriciate the steps they used on Extreme 4x4's blue Dodge Ram.
Go to extreme4x4.com and see if you can find it. I'm sure they have it on their site somewhere, all the products they use are there. I've never looked but it's a set of steps that are pretty long, and hide underneath the truck. Then when you open the door, they swing out and give a pretty good distance for a step. I might get a set for mine eventually.
