I have a 1975 ford f-250 high boy and the previous owner parked it and left it there for 16 years so i got it from him and i am fixing it up. i rebuilt the carburater and it was running good then the fuel pump went out so i got a new one and put it on and it started up. I was driving it and it died on me and wouldnt start so i took the fuel line off and had somebody crank it and no fuel came out. So i put some fuel in the carb to try to start it and it took a few trys doing this but it finally ran and it did this to me again. Does anybody know y it is?
a f-250 should have a 390 with a 4bbl. is that what this is? first thing to do is pull the hose off where it connects to the carb then hookup a pressure gauge to the line crank it over and see if you have fuel pressure if so you know it is then in the carb. most likely a stuck valve.
or if not put the end of the hose in a bottle and crank and see if you get flow. the motorcraft 2150 carb is prone to the needle and seat sticking, did you replace them?
