Dash Clips

I don't know were this post belongs but here we go. The term curiosity killed the cat couln't fit better here. While waiting in the driveway of a friends house, I tried to pull the black part of my dash ( around the guages ) off to see what it looked like. BIG MISTAKE. Now, two clamps have broken off and is being held up by the remaining clamps and the steering collumn. GREAT. I'm wondering, how do I fix this???? New clamps? Where do I get them? PLEASE HELP. This is extremely un attractive and annoys the hell out of me. HELP!!

Sounds like you'll need some new clamps. Sometimes such things can be found in parts stores, but you'll probably have to get them at a dealer.

Check a local salvage yard. The best place to find things of this nature.

Those type of clips are best served as a one time use only. After use and re-use they stretch a little and can allow your dash to rattle. Go to a Ford dealer; they are cheap little things. Nothing says crappy vehicle like squeeks and rattles...especially from the inside. Splurge the buck or two and get new clips please.

ford dealer all the way. Just go to the garage area and ask the guy at the parts counter. You'll be glad you did.

THANK YOU EVERYONE. I really can't tell you what a pleasure it is to have so many people willing to help others in need. I have a friend who works for a dealership, so I will definately check it out. THANKS AGAIN.
