'71 block??

'71 block??

I've failed to get up useful info searching. I've heard there is a difference in the '71 block. Is that so and if so what would those differences be and does it matter in a truck application.

the 71 engine is the only worth while 335 series engine ever built. it had a lot of power ,after 71 it became a smog dog.

The only difference I can see in the block is the screw in core plug above the lifter galley on each side. There is no evidence of the block being stronger. I used to have one around here but I junked it.
