Can anyone tell me More specifally what the code means Shift pack?,or solenoids
the awd 4lo 4hi problem was transfer case motor .cleared codes. service engine light came back still 1740 code

I new it was a solenoid, but thought it the one that engages the 4 wheel. I believe you will have to go into the tranny for that, but don't count on it. Tranny's are my weak point, but all you have to do is call up a tranny shop, not Ammco or a major repair place. Call a local guy and he'll tell you what's involved over the phone. Get a quote while your at it so you know what to expect.
