Runnaway RPM
I have an 01 F350 4X4 Super 7.3 Pwr Stroke, automatic, when driving down the road if I get on it, the RPMS race up but I have to back off a bit in order for the the truck to catch up. It seems around 2500 rpm it does it. Any ideas of what is up.Rick

Yep, for instance, I can be in cruise, and go up an incline, the engine rpms will go up and , I have to kind of baby it , usually once its below the 2000 RPM range it is cool.
Or, when I excellarate, the rpms rev, and the truck doesnt.

when i had my 90 f-150 with an auto in it, it did the same thing. the clutches in it were smooth as a baby's....going uphill the RPM's would climb, but no speed. somehow i limped the 40 miles home.....home to a 1000$ tranny job.
