I'm starting to have problems with the idle on startup. Started out idling a bit rough, now its progressed to it won't idle without feathering the gas on startup. Once I've driven a couple of miles it will idle without dying. I've noticed a couple of posts about this problem. Anyone else have a suggestion on fixing the problem?
Check the IAC (Idle Air Control) valve - it may be sticking or giving bad voltage readings to the computer.. The symptoms of a faulty valve are: fast or irregular idle and/or erratic performance.
I fixed the whole problem, it was the throttle control senser
Clean the mass air flow sensor and change the air filter. You can also try cleaning the throttle body. Those are just a couple super chep items to start with that should be done every once in a while.
Replacing the Idle Air Control Valve fixed the problem for me. $55 from Autozone. 5 minute repair job. Thanks to all who replied with their suggestions.
