Nextel and Sprint have merged, although I have Nextel and a friend of mine has Sprint and I still get much better service than he does... might just be the phone though... Nextel phones hold up through abuse.
I like my verizon phone. I have yet to have a bad signal area (except IN my house). I never liked sprint's coverage or nextel's they have no network... They rely on someone else's and then charge you through the nose for roaming.
I use Sprint, and have this big ol brick of a phone, the SCP-7200. I love the phone, it's been dropped, kicked, thrown, dumped in the water, and survived it all. Unfortunetely, it does melt pretty easy, as I found when a hot piece of slag got in my pocket.
Personally, I think all services are lame, so I got one that had a phone I liked. It's outlasted my old phone by almost a year.
Im leaning towards Nextel cause they have a phone I really like. but now Im checking out Alltel

I'm on Cingular and have yet to travel to a place where I wasn't able to get any service.

Then you haven't been to my county, because Cingular has no service here at all. When my buddy Steve comes up to visit from the Bay Area, he can't get a signal anywhere.
My boss just switched to Verizon and his signal drops out all the time. Sometimes he sounds like he's talking underwater.
I have TracFone, which hitchhikes onto the strongest signal. Around here that seems to be USCellular. -TD
Verizon. I have a signal almost everywhere I go, except in the deepest valleys around here. Every time we go camping, at all different spots, my friends are constantly asking to use my phone...because Im the only one with service!
