I HAVE A 2002 FORD EXPEDITION I BOUGHT USED. THEREFORE I DO NOT HAVE AN OWNERS MANUAL. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE PROCEDURE TO CHANGE THE CODE ON MY KEYLESS ENTRY PAD? I MADE THE MISTAKE OF GIVING MY 12YEAR OLD THE CODE. HE HAS DECIDED TO SHARE THE CODE WITH HIS FRIENDS. NOT A GOOD IDEA!
NOW I AM CONCERNED WITH THE CODE BEING OUT THERE. PLEASE HELP! LUCY
Children forget very fast. In order to enter a second code you must first enter the factory code. Do a search for the procedure and then Ebay a owners manual.
3. Key in the desired additional code (must be five digits).
4. You're done. You now have two codes to work the locking system. If you ever want to erase the additional code, follow steps 1 and 2, then key in the original code.
Limber? Look under the dashboard on the drivers side. Up above the area where the parking brake is located is a box with a paper sticker that contains a five-digit code. That's what you're looking for.

That's odd that you can't change the factory setting. I mean, what if you got a divorce and your ex-wife is a vindictive beach, and she decides to mess with your truck? Or worse yet, an insane ex-girlfriend? That's just silly!
It seems to me that you could swap out that little white box with a new one, or one out of a junkyard, and change the code that way. It might be a pain in the butt, but at least no crazy women would be able to get in your truck.
(I in no way resemble these remarks, but a friend of mine just broke up w/ his GF, and she is a total beach, and would definately mess with his truck or steal everything out of it, given the chance)
The original code is there to stay, barring any hardware swaps. However, you have the ability to key in a second code that can be changed/erased anytime. Just keep the first code a secret and if you have to give the code to another party, give out the easily-changable second one.
