Do you have a Service Manual as there is probably a picture of the wiper assembly in it. If not how about a Mid Fifty catalog, they show the wiper assembly and it might help understanding how it works. The two wiper arm pivot shafts go through the cowl, held in place with a chrome ferrule and nut. There are arms that extend from each pivot shaft under the cowl toward the center where they attach to the wiper motor pivot arm. This probably doesn't make sense but if you saw a picture it probably would. You may not have all the pieces. Check the illustration in the Mid Fifty book.
I've been trying to finish stripping my cab and I'm almost there. If I can get a photo of the wiper assembly in a reasonable timeframe (), I'll see if I can post it for you.

Is that in position George?
That would be a great help!
As they say, A picture is worth a 1000 words.
Has anyone ever shoved/welded/stuffed a wiper assembly from an old(67) mustang into a 54 f100? Reason I would like to try is because of the cool foot pedal washer and wiper switch I have on the floorboard of my 67 mustang. Did I say "old" mustang? I forgot what audience I'm adressing! I mean my late model, newest daily driver! Thanks!
Finally got all the stuff out of the cab and the wiper assembly is the last thing to remove. Here are three photos of the assembly from under the dash.
The three photos are all taken from the same vantage point and move left to right under the dash - or is that right to left, but upside down? Anyway, the three photos show the one side, the center, and the other side portions of the assembly in order.
Just got back from a 4 day road trip with my youngest, Alex, 13.
She wanted to see the Lucille Ball/Desi Arnez Museum in Jamestown and we camped on Chautauqua Lake and visited the Chautauqua Instituion...say Arlo Guthrie perform Friday Night!!!
Great trip, great father daughter time, and the truck worked well...except for the passenger side interior door handle!
George, Kevin et al:
I was given a Mopar Wiper Motor and a mounting bracket so I can have electric wipers rahter than those vacuum ones that suck...literally
The Wiper motor pivot shaft on my Mopar Motor seems too short to accomodate the Ford linkage arms.
Aany one had a similar problem or gone through this adaptation and can give me some advice?
I used the wiper motor from a Cherokee (classic 90's vintage). It bolted in very easily. I only enlarged the 3 stock F100 mounting holes a little and everthing matched up very well. I also used the steering column from the Cherokee so I was able to wire in the delay wiper function also. I have some pics in my gallery of the wiper. Let me know if you need any info.
Good luck
