I at got a CC as it was the only cab style that would fit my Full crew.(wife and 4 kids)
I had looked at the excursion, but thought the truck bed would fit my needs better. Also, the pickups were a LOT cheaper.
I have to admit, I LOVE MY CREW CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess it depends on a persons needs, but between my two daughters, or my 125 pound dog, etc., etc., the extra space is awesome! Not to mention, the look of the crew gives the truck a much beefier appearance. Hehehehe!
Saguaro, you are not alone. I love my SC and wouldn't trade it for anythng.
Vancouverpower, Ford changed the way the SC folds down in 2000. My 99 makes a flat surface behind the front seat, can't figure why they changed it.
Sholiz, I wouldn't get a short bed. A long bed is much more usefull. If you should ever want to go to a cab over or something you are not limited. An SC of CC is just a matter of people hauling needs. I only haul me and very seldom my wife, have no use for a CC.
Crew Cab is the way to got. Those that got a super wish they had a crew. Mileage is the same. The only time it really makes a difference is driving habits and auto/stick. A person gets spoiled with 4 door especially if you haul 2+ people around. During dove season everyone always wanted to go in my truck. IT WAS COMFORTABLE. Funny, cuz one friend has an 05 f150 crew, and it is still pretty cramped in the back compared to mine. I have slept on my back seat and it was great. I have priced a back seat that folds down into a bed. They run $350 on ebay, but I dont plan on sleeping in my truck that much. So long as I keep the wife happy, LOL.
A ford dealer once told me that ford recommends that you don't plow with a cc but I don't know why? has any body else heard this? I don't really know if this is a factor in your choice or not. I just thought I would throw it out there
I've had everything from single cab to super cab to crew cab. Even just by myself I like the room that the crew cab offers. The only thing that I don't like about the CC is that I cannot reach the rear sliding window. I have to stop, get out and go back to open or close it.
Just curious, but the link kalsc posted is a new rear seat that will fold down. Think that'd be very difficult to install?
I'm all for the crew cab as well, just can't beat the interior space. As far as the fold down seat goes. If it is the same as the factory seat, then it is not hard at all to install, I have had mine out a couple of times installing misc. stuff.
