self regulating trans coolers????
Awhile ago I bought a tekonsha "self regulating" trans cooler. It was on sale and with money being tight from the purchase of the camper I bought it. I'ts not the typical fin and tube design. it's hard to describe, but it suposedly restricts flow throught the cooler (bypass) until it reaches a certain temp. Otherwise iut won't flow through the tubes until it's thin enough. It gets rather warm, I don't let it get past 210 on the auto meter trans temp gauge I installed, but It gets there rather easily. Anyone hear whther these things are any good or not??

Never seen one, sure doesn't sound good though. My 99 F150 came with a cooler from the factory, but it's a standard cooler. I pull a 3700lb setup fairly regularly and it never goes over 165F, even in Texas heat.
