I have a 67 f100 2wd that I want to install a 351w in.
I went to bone yard and bought a set of engine perches off a 79 f150 2wd that I was told had a 302.
I went to install them on my truck and the bolt holes on the top frame rail lined up but the bottom holes did not.
The bolt holes on the botom of the perchs are below the holes in the crossmember.
Has anyone ran into this before?
I have read several post that said you could use up to 79.
Even if they were for the wrong engine they should have fit on the crossmember right?
Thanks for any help.
Sounds like you don't have them in the right holes, years ago when I was
swapping out a I-6 and installing a 351w I ended up going and looking at a
truck with a 351w in it, to double check! I have installed the frame perches
from a 79 in a 69 and the holes were already there. But if I remember right
I think that I saw somthing a post that said not all the hole were drilled! But I
have not ran into this and I have install lots of frame perches in lots of different
years of trucks 65 the holes were there and 69 there, lots 73-79s holes there.

Thanks for the help guys I will try to put them on again.
I'm new to these engine swaps as you can tell.
Look in my gallery and you can see the truck i'm working on.
John, the guy I bought the truck from did not use correct engine perches.
He welded them on, the 460 engine did not set in the right place.
I sold the engine and trans and bought the 351w.
I an only get 2 holes on frame rails to line up none on the crossmember.
When the holes on the frame rail is lined up the bottom holes on the perches are lower than holes on the crossmember.
I did this very swap back in March and I had to drill only one hole in the bottom of the K-member for each perch. What maybe throwing you off is that the 351W motor mounts on the block are offset from front to back and when the perches are placed in the truck it looks like they are in wrong (This has me puzzled for a little while). I have some digital pictures of the swap and I think that I have pictures of the engine bay when we put the new pedestals in. Send me a PM with your email address and I will send them to you.
If my truck wasn't so big, I would definitely prefer a 351W over the 460 I have. Parts are cheaper, and there are more to choose from, not to mention the better mileage. I am thinking about building a '68 off-road race truck, which will be powered by a 351W.
