Im going to get some bridgestone AT revo's and want to go a little bigger. Im pretty sure 265's would be too big, but are 30x9.5's out of the question? Theyre about 1.5 inches or a little less taller than the 235's i guess.
31/10.5/15 will fit. Thats what i have. I ended up having the front raised about an inch and put new shackles on the rear rated at 1.25"s, just for looks and a bit stiffer ride.
BTW on my 98 no big tire shop wanted to touch it unless i went with exactly the same size tire. Is the 2000 any differant suspention wise?(Independent rear)

I have 32" on my Explorer but I have a 5 - 5 1/2 lift, I forget now. I did hear that 30" will fit stock. I have had 33" super swampers on my Explorer but the ride wasn't fun in city.
Best thing to do is check out Superlift I ordered a catalog from them before and they list what tire fits stock, what tire fits with a 1 1/2 lift, and up to what tire fits with cut out fenders with a big lift. Just surf the superlift site and see if you can find your answer or get their catalog and that should have a chart that would help.

Good luck.
Hey I'd like to see pics of that Ex. Do you have the 5.0L/3.73:1 combo?

Hi yield2s. I have the old school Explorer (91) but all Explorers are mostly the same. Changes to the Explorer happened I think in 1995. As one poster said above, tire shops perfer to install the same size tire that came with the year Explorer. I pressed Sears to put the 32" tires on but they said you really should have... I said you want a sale, put em on They did, and I had the lift kit on then too?
Anyway, I'm going to upload some pics of my van soon so yeah I can take some pics of the Explorer too to add to my gallery but your more interested in modern Explorers right? I have the 2 door Sport 4.0L auto 4x4.
