I have finished my truck rebuild and it turned out great far exceded my expectations but for $10,000 it should be nice hope to have a gallery soon now i have a pto setup that bolts on the side of the tranny its a np 435 for those that dont know about this sort of thing what i need to know is doe's anybody have a line on some winches that would work either direct drive or hydrulic type drum evertthing i've come across is way to big to set on the front of my truck i'm waiting for a cxouple of catalogs but thought id ask you guys too electrics are nice but they dont work the same as a pto drivin if any of you have ever seen one of these trucks setup like this you know what i mean
Well here's what I've always wanted to do, and you can do it with a big winch that isn't bumper mountable... (I am a poor grad student though and no $ to do it) .... mount a PTO winch mid-truck, right behind the cab in/under the bed...run the winch cable to the back bumper, around a ****** block, then up to the front through some metal tubing or something. Then to winch from the rear you pull the ****** block out and hook it to a d-ring and to winch from the front just pull the cable out as usual. I've seen this setup somewhere before on a landrover, maybe someone else will know some web links to it...I think it'd be a really sweet setup though.
I have acess to a set up like your refering to in fact the guy will give it to me but i dont want to take up my bed space i know they made what im looking for just have to find it thanks and good luck
77 hiboy lifted and built 390
75 hiboy beat to **#%** but still goes
I don't have the link but do a Google search for Tulsa winch in Tulsa OK .....they will probably have something close to what your looking for.....They have been supplying winches for oilfield trucks for years....they maybe part of a larger winch company....Why don't you publish your project in the Tech section on this website along with any pictures.....we would all appreciate it very much....fd
