how high will a stock 351 rev to?

The max I've ever seen on my tach (pedal buried) is 4400 rpm. That's in my '93 F250 with 351W, E4OD and 4.10 rear.

According to specs I have for my '92 351W, peak torque is at 2800 rpm and peak HP is at 4200 rpm. I would suspect redline to be between 5000 to 5500 rpm, but I've never tried to operate it at that speed.

I changed my shift points to 5350 for the 1-2 and 2-3 without any ill effects.

A stock can will start to fall on its face around 4500 which is probably why the rig shifts at that RPM.

A "taller" gear will make the motor ramp up faster, and on an E-tranny, your shift points may be altered because of this.

My 95 with a 351 doesnt show a redline at all on the tach. Goes all the way up to 6000 with no problem accoring to the tach. Although I've never revved it up above 3800 b/c it shifts before then unless I manually shift it. My shift points are real low, I've got a 3.55 rear end and 33 inch tires so im sure that plays a factor, cause when the speedo is maxxed out at about 90 or 95, im only pullin 2500-2600 in overdrive.
