vacuum line disaster

In trying to right the wrong in my vac lines for my 460, with some help here and a lot of reading I've come to one conclusion. ALL the diagrams show thermacter air bypass, egr back pressure valves, temp. vac valves, and the list goes on. In short the only thing my van has is the distributorand carb with the vac advance witch i still have no clue where that line goes, the diagrams show a riaser plate under the carb that has the EGR and bi-metalsensor. The riaser I have does'nt have the EGR or the bi-metal sensor. Bottom line , do I need to buy all this stuff or can I get it to run with out. As it sits it idles good, stomp on the gas and it rev up good, take it on the road and it has no power at all, I could just barely make it up the drive. Slow in to the gas it picks up so slow i could run faster. I got one filter I need to check but other than that ????????? at a loss ( 1976 ford quad van )

Post vacuum line disaster

It took me months to straighten out my vacuumn lines. What really helped was my local library. It had an actual set of factory manuals. I found out that Ford in the 60's and 70's sent lots of manuals to libraries across the united states. Since my vehicle was an mid 73 I have items from 72, 73, 74 years incorporated into my vehicle. this made it really fun to figure everything out. If all else fails look around the bottom of the cab, there should be a vaccumn port to attach the advance line to. Or there should be a vacuumn tree on the left rear of the intake manifold that could be used. Just ensure that the ports that are not in use are capped off.
