The 2009 F150 for any given engine class, is supposed to get 1-2 mpg more than the current model. For 2010, then the Boss engine comes out... we'll just have to wait and see what its mileage numbers are.
If you use your side mirrors when backing up you dont have to worry about how tall your bed is. As for getting stuff, I usually just hop over the side and get what I need. But I reckon I wont be able to do that for too much longer......
Funny thing is when I had my 04 f-150 fx4 it had those high sides and i came to like them alot for style and keeping stuff in the bed. Now my new 08 f-250 sd has the low sides I cant figure why ford didnt use the high sides on the 250s as well. I kinda miss mine I guess if a fella wanted to he could probably swap beds from a 250 over or vise versa not sure.
I like the tall/deep bed on my 08 F150. I'm 6' and have had no problems associated with the height of the bed sides.
I notice a lot of this on internet boards. "If I don't like it..... you shouldn't either!"
Freedom is about choice. A free man makes choices for himself/ family/ business and does what suits him without hurting others. If he likes a certain height bed better. And if that's going to be a part of his decision. So be it. More power to him!
For me....My F150's a real big car with a great big deep open trunk that's comfortable, powerful enough and can go off with the whole family safe and secure. Some would fault me for that. They'd say..... Go buy a car! They can go buy a car!
I got bigger/badder trucks for dirty work & hauling.
When I first got this truck my wife said: "That truck sure has a big butt!"
I sez: "I always liked big butts on my women. Why not my trucks too?"
Meh I didn't see that til after I post, kinda breath new life to it, especially now that Toyota and chevrolet came out with a "new" truck (new meant for chevy).
NxNW that's friggin hillarius about the big butt comment! As for the thing about people thinking they're opinion is the best one about likes and disklikes, I do agree with you that.
I just didn't get the point of people complaining about the whole bed deal when if they were looking at the truck and didnt really check it out, and then complain about it. But oh well.
That's another good thing about freedom, freedom of expression/speech.

I think most folks did look at it. Like said before its not a deal breaker, that doesnt mean that you cant still dislike it does it? There are plenty of things I dont like about my truck (and I knew this when I bought it), is your truck perfect? Its not like they have different options in bed hieght, if you need to buy a new F150 than your kinda stuck. Sure you could buy used, or a different truck, but this is the F150 forum after all, I think most folks are in that market. BTW I did not buy the deep bed 150. So does that make it ok for me to complain or not, I forget what the rules are now? (and I wasnt a complainer anyhow btw... I was making an observation with both good points and bad.)
