97 explorer limited DRL

Yeah I found this connector on the front engine compartment, drivers side of my 93 explorer. It looked like it went to the headlights. I wasn't sure if it was some kind of test port or if it went to some type of fog light option that I didn't get. I bought the car new and didn't remember any options like that. But then I noticed it has a jumper on it so that told me that something could go there instead of the jumper so then I got real curious. I saw in the Chiltons manual electrical schematic a DRL or a DRL jumper. So that was it. But what is a DRL. Desperation drove me to the owners manual, typically worthless right? And there it listed the DRL - daytime running lights - as a Canadian car only feature. Must be some Canadian law that headlights must be on in the daytime.
So to answer your question, on a 93 anyway, look on the engine side of the radiator support, left side. Mine is facing connector side straight up. It is affixed to a bracket with a plastic clip.
