I installed the gauges about a year ago and all was great. Pre turbo. About 4 months ago, the pyro gauge would occasionally swing all the way to the right (red) on starting and stay there for a mile or so. Then it would settle out at about 300 at idle and run about 550/600 or so at 65 mph hiway. With the Predator set on 60hp, I could easily put the pyro into the bottom end of the red very quickly. (1250ish)
Now, the pyro reads 0 at idle and maybe 350ish at 65. It is much slower to increase the temp reading and the max I can get it to is about 950. So it seems it is reading about 300 deg low.
Any ideas as to what the cause might be? Bad controller? Probe bad?
No idea if related or not, but the max boost has dropped from about 21-22 down to 17-18.
I would check the pyro connections for corrosion at the thermocouple.
Thanks, Dave, I'll crawl under it and take a peek. Hopefully with less than a year of use, it won't look too bad. Although, that calcium chloride Montana uses on the roads for de-icer is very corrosive - kills aluminum wheel quickly.

OK I was thinking about a 2000 model truck I was asked to help find a hissing sound on. I can not remember exactly where it was, but close to the firewall the Y pipe that hooks the left and right manifold pipes together before the turbo was leaking exhaust. This dropped the turbo boost a bit. Check all the connections for streaks of black exhaust soot carefully. I know that Y is in a hard place to see well, you may have to use a mirror to see it all the way around. Also check the pipe connections to the manifolds.
I guess it is also possible that you could have a leak in the pressure side into the manifold, but that is going to be much harder to find.
The screw connections on the thermocouple need to be good and clean. I would put a good coat of dielectric grease on them after you put them back together. Heat shrink tube and tape to finish it off for a nice water resistant covering.
I also have the ISSPRO pyro gauge. Mine is new, but I do think they have a one year warranty. I'd give the company a call, they might be able to help you out.
