I had the Daystar leveling kit installed on my 04 4x4 along with some new 305/70/117 Wranglers. The truck looks good but I would still like to have an additional inch maybe two in lift. I really dont wany to get involved in a lot of suspension work and was wondering if a body lift would be the best route and are they safe? Any recommendations for the additional lift will be appreciated.
I have a 3" body lift on mine(look at pics)and they are safe. you better know your ford service dept well, they can choose not to honor your warranty. i know mine very well so they just act like its not there. you will proably want someone to install it for you, its hard to do unlike other trucks. the bolts have to be pressed out so you need special tools. good luck. Rusty
just wondering if you bought a 6'' lift installed for round 3000 dollars+/-, and got 6 front and 3-4 inches of lift rear wouldnt it be sensible for the guys who dont offroad hardcore to maybe go with a 3'' body, and leveling kit? for aroun $600? has anyone tried this? is it possible? any one got any PICS?_MassDog
MassDog.....................if you want to get about 6" of lift without the whole suspention kit deal you can. #1. install leveling kit on front #2. install a factory ford rear block(this is why the 4x4 sit's taller in the rear than the two wheel drive. if you own a 4x4 just stack the blocks. either way you will need new ubolts, they need to be longer)#3. install 3" bodylift. thats it your done. if you need more help let me know. hey rusty what setup are u running? i was looking in ur gallery just curious to know what ur running. thanks
my truck is a 4x4, so with two ford blocks and a 3 inch body lift that would be like 7 inches of rear blocks, is that safe/stable? where do i get the ford rear blocks, do i have to get them from ford?
Massdog................yes you will have to buy the blocks from the dealer. you will also need longer u-bolts. i have a set of u-bolts i will sell you for $25.00 that will work perfect. as far as being safe most people who install the suspesion lift are stacking blocks. Rusty
