DavidT, I just went through the exact same thing with my exhaust. I first took off the muffler and thought it was just to loud, it will be louder under the truck like that than if it was routed out the side like stock, it's bouncing off all kinds of stuff under there. So I decided to try the Walker BTM and I really like it, it's the best of both worlds. The best part was I needed no pipe, or anything special, just a sawzall and a wrench. The BTM is 3.5" so it fits right in. Buy a couple 3.5" clamps and you can do the whole job all by your self. The truck sounds great and you know it runs better.

I straight piped my PSD about 2 months ago... I also ran my truck with the exhuast exiting from underneath at first untill I could install the straight pipe thats fills the void of the muffler and cat... There was a huge difference in sound levels, at least in the cab, it was much louder exiting from under the truck!! That extra few feet of pipe really helped to muffle it down some!!
