Lost power to Inst cluster, no tach no lights, dead accelerator, no wait to start light or anything else on inst cluster, key in ignition buzzer works when the door is open, truck starts fine all other accessories work ie lights radio ect. Checked power coming from fuse box ok to harness at panel, get power at throttle harness, traced circuts back no shorts in wires, replaced fuses same thing. Was wondering if speed sensor in trans is some how linked to accelerator, I had a car before with a broken speedometer cable and it would not accelerate, computer was not seeing speedometer signal so it shut down ??????
Oh yes.....those were the days.......speedometer cables breaking......either that or the gear breaking a tooth, or stripping. Well my friend....those days are gone at least on these Super Duties. Everything in the cluster is driven by the PCM. You need to check fuse #16 under the dash.....that is the main power for the cluster.....it should be 15 amps.

found that 35 and 41 are both part of the Inst cluster and 41 is listed in the manual as Ignition circuit, 35 instruments cluster, I found that some how they are tied together and if one goes niether work, replaced #41 and we have pedal again, Although something keeps blowing #45 over the weekend I had to replace #45 twice. Need to look at the schematics of that circuit and back trace everything to see what's pulling too many Amps.
Thanks for the advice, I will check that tonight, makes sense every time its gone out is after I have backed up or manuvered in tight spaces and from day one the **** on the shifter where the OD switch is slides up over time and I have to push it back down. Auto was a last minute addition when I ordered it, wife whined about the stick so I gave in, Stupid me. Unfortunetly I cannot take it out of service right now.
