Remote hood latch/alarm componets
...I seem to have lost the search function again so I'll try a new thread. I'm installing a new alarm system and considering the remote hood latch. I could use some tips on part numbers for the latch and mounting and routing of the cable/**** etc.
...I'm also trying to decide where to locate the shock sensor and the proximitry sensors. Does it really matter if they are hidden or not?

Bear, find a remote latch on a truck in the Junkyard and make notes as you pull it. Otherwise use bends with the largest radius possible.
I haven't got a clue on the alarm components.

Remote hood latch/alarm componets
I am going to use my underhood light for the trunk hood trigger wire. If I can make it work. I already have a locking hood latch but this way if anyone ever gets it open it will set off the alarm.

Remote hood latch/alarm componets

The hood latch part number is e5tz16914a. The cable will work from 78 on up to the mid 80's I believe (I pulled some from 80's bronco's and they are the exact same length as 70's cables). Finding the latch is the hard part, but they are offered on e-bay every so often. Getting the lock keyed to the ignition key is not dificult ($20). The cable handle will attach to the left of the drivers courtesy light beneath the dash. The cable will extend through the firewall, directly towards the upper side of the washer bottle. It then extends toward and through a ~2" hole in the front radiator support and then to the latch. I can send some pictures if necessary from the 78 Ford shop manual. Good luck.
