Does anyone know if the Splash has a different suspension than the other Rangers? I have 2 1994 Rangers,1 Splash and 1 XLT, the Splash seems to sit lower than the XLT also seems to sit more level front to back. I have heard the Splash's have a performance suspension. Is it just lower springs or different I-Beams. How about sway bars, the Splash seems to handle better. I would like to know any difference because the Splash has been wrecked and will need some front end parts. was also thinking about lowered I-Beams while I was under there replacing parts anyway.
from what i heard the splash is just lowered springs but im not sure, if your tight on cash any ranger ibeam stup with work it just wont be as low maybey.
I know this thread is about 7 years old, but the title of it matches my question. I bought a 1995 Ford Ranger super cab, 2wd, with a 2.3L and 5 speed trans. It is not a splash. I have known all of its owners since it had 7100 miles in 1996.
About 2 years ago my brother was involved in a small accident in it that bent the front twin-I-beams slightly. He got used twin-I-beams and coil springs from a junkyard and had them installed. The person that installed them kept asking us if the old coil springs were "trimmed" to lower the front a little bit, which I am pretty sure no one had done that to it.
My overall question is this, does anybody know of any of the style side bed trucks that got a splash type suspension from the factory? This truck seems to have that. It also has the chrome type rims that the splashes had, but it's not a stepside, never has been. Just wondering if possibly the wrong (as in not original) type of coil spring is in it now.
