Mud Flaps!

2015 Ford Super Duty Custom Accessories | The Official Site for Ford Accessories

I'm not crazy about mud flaps, but even the A/S tires are tossing little rocks up. I see a few tiny stone chips already.

On the ford site(link above), I see a few varieties.. I have SRW, and I don't want the bright, or metallic inserts. So it leaves me with these choices.. Some of them seem the same..? And I guess The heavy duty ones are better than the molded type? How about the looks, are the pics accurate on their site?

All 3 are different part #'s
Splash Guards - Heavy Duty, For Front or Rear, Without Bright Insert
Splash Guards - Heavy Duty, Front or Rear
Splash Guards - Heavy Duty, Rear Only ???are these the same as above?

Splash Guards - Molded Front With Wheel Lip Moldings
Splash Guards - Molded Rear, Without Wheel Lip Moldings ?? opinions on lip molding, or without??

Get these, I have them and they look great and protect very well. I have an FX4 with factory small flares, those are the ones you need for wheel lip moldings. Otherwise if you have no flares, get the top ones. Look much better IMHO than the simple flat ones.
I bought a set for both F250's I've had.

I went to the aftermarket and purchased Duraflaps. Very pleased with them.

Husky mud flaps for my truck. Install was a breeze and they are real sturdy.

For your XL, it is unlikely you have lip moldings, so you don't want flaps or guards that allow for them.
I had an F-150 that did not have lip moldings and I installed Husky mud guards front and rear. They are exactly like the Ford brand, but they don't say "Ford" on them. I figure my truck is labeled enough already. The tires on that truck were wider than stock and stuck out past the wheel well a bit. It would sling dirt and stones everywhere. I installed the mud guards and was very pleased with the results. The sides (especially rocker panels) of my white truck stayed much cleaner looking and the guards looked good too.
Now I have the F-250 Lariat with lip molding. I got another set of Husky mud guards for this truck - front and rear - too. I really like them, and I think they look like the truck was designed with them in mind. To me, flaps look too much like an afterthought.

Another vote for duraflaps! I used to have the plastic factory ones and they made a mess of my paint. Some sand/grit gets trapped in there and it just rubs away at the paint.

I've got OEM on the front and Weather Tech on the back. If you are running larger or more aggressive tires id go for the Duraflaps. Going to be getting a set myself.

Ohhh I get it, lip molding = fender flare..ha. Thanks guys! I'm checking out the huskies and duratecs right now.

Huskies only have one option for me, so that's easy. But I have A few questions about the duratecs:
Extra Long, or regular? I'm guessing regular, since I have no lift or anything..?

12" or 14" wide? I'd have to guess the 12", since my tires are only about 9.6 wide, and I have no flares?

So that leaves me with Drilling required, Drill-less, or pre-drilled? Of course, Drill-less sounds good, but are there any pros/cons? will it be a better fit if I drill them myself? or is that just for non standard applications?

I am running no lift, but 35's that are almost 13" wide so I think they are the long version and they are 14" wide no drill, they went on great!

Those look great! 14" doesn't look to big with those tires. I can imagine getting bigger tires at some point, so I'd like to go with the long/wide versions like you have, but I wonder how it will look with my stock skinnies, lol. I still have another 45-50k miles to go on them..

I bought new tires not long after getting the truck but stayed with stock size. I like the molded look so I got the dealer to throw a set on a free set as part of the deal at purchase time.

Looking at the 14" wide duraflap for my 350 more so to keep the rocks off the camper when we tow. Could you measure how far down below the bottom of fender they hang and what is the overall length, front and rear? Can't decide what length to get and yours look about perfect. Thanks

I think they would look fine. You would have great protection with stocks and be ready for when you go up a size. I have a bunch more pics if you want any other angles.

Fronts are 22" long and hang down about 10". Rears are 29" long and hang down about 12".

I looked up my order and it was FF8 SS and FR9 SS, so not the long ones.

There is a clear adhesive vinyl material that goes in there, works great for me. I'd guess you didn't have that.
