Good advice. Torquing the lug nuts is an often-overlooked necessity, as is tightening them in the "star-cross" pattern. I torque mine to 105 lbs-ft.

i used to never torque lug nuts because i never had a rotor warping problem. I found that Rangers are picking in that way though, i torque mine at 95 ft lb.

It looks like the best deal I can find is Brembo rotors and Hawk Performance Ceramic pads from tirerack. Cheaper than any other quality option (NAPA, etc). Is there any reason to not use the Hawk pads? I like both these companies products for cars but have never considered Hawk for a truck before.

Note about lug nut torqueing taken to heart.

The reason i chose EBC is because thats what i always bought for my Dirt bike, and i never had any problem and it was a name that i knew. I've never used hawk before, but if you have had good luck with them before, i'd give them a shot. As long as you use ceramics you shoud be fine. I made the mistake of putting the semi metallics on my truck once and they squeel and howl when they get hot.
