I just bought a 93 f-350 cc srw auto 4x4 with a 460 and was wondering about power up grades and was wanting to know what has worked for you guys, gas mileage not really a concern as getting around 12 now

Reason: forgot motor size

The efi 460's don't really have many upgrades. You can go to a decent cam, but not something with a lot of overlaping. In order to do anything special you will need to convert the speed density system to a maf system.
K&N FIPK, 56mm throttle body, Gibson shorty headers, free flow cats, Magnaflow or other good muffler type. Make sure your timing is 10° BTDC with the spout off. SCT has a great chip with 4 variable programs, Ken has mede me aware of them and since you didn't list the transmission, if and auto, either a B&M or Transgo shift kit will enhance performance. For info on the chip go to the sponsors and look under Motorhaven. That's the chip going into Project Bronco (my 460 transplant project). Make sure that you balance the enhancements to the intake side as well as the exhaust to maintain performance. Welcome to the boards.

Reason: info
I think Banks has a kit too. They looked expensive, but seemed well sorted and well tested. I've also heard that at around 100k a timing chain will do wonders.
Absolutely no gain. The Ford fuel injection system on the 7.5L has injectors at each cylinder. The turbulence gained under the throttle body has no real effect as it has on the GM "Vortex" system. I would run a can of "Seafoam" through the intake/gas tank system, works wonders in performance and cleans it like rip. Just so you know, I'm not an advocate of a "tune up in a can" type products. I heard about this on the Bronco boards and tried it. About 1/3 can through the brake booster hose into the intake, not booster, she'll smoke like a banshee for a few minutes, then clear up. I now run a can through the fuel tanks every 10,000 miles or so. I've gained about 1.6 mpg which shows it was dirty in the first place.
Never fooled around with them. Try the 460 forum for info there. Gotta head to the shop and pick up some material for my cornice guys. Have a good day and enjoy the 4th!
On those pulleys I'd stay with stock unless you mainly do highway or good cruising speed driving. If you do alot of stop and go or pulling you slow down the water pump and alternator and may heat up or not charge the battery enough if you have quite a few accessories.
I am wondering if these mods are good for most aplications. I know that if you want torque you different mods than for a boost in HP. My 93 F-250 is used primarily to pull my 5th wheel through the Rocky Mountains so I need as much torque as I can get.

Rich
i to pull a trailer I had replaced the TB, removed and cleaned the intake it was a mess black sluge like and run seaform in fuel both tanks along with injector cleaner and installed headers along with new cat back exaust miles is still 12 or better but the power at lower rpm is better and at highway speed much better power
loads pulled is generaly 28 ft goose neck with 10 cows or a few horses or a flatbed 34 foot with 16 round bales on it and it handles it great now was good before but also have 93 with a 7.3 in it and a 5 speed and this one will out pull it i think thanks for the advice
Thanks Egress! What kind of exhaust components did you get. I have looked for headers but haven't been able to find anything and those I have found have been major bucks. Did you change the size of your TB? The intake cleaning sounds like a good project to concider too.
Sounds like your truck gets a lot heavier use than mine does.
