is anyone else having rust problems on the inside bottom of the doors? all 4 doors of my truck are rusting out. ford is going to fix this but i was just wondering. the truck only has 37000 miles on it.
I have this on my passenger side door. Reading the warranty manual, though, tells me that corrosion is only covered up to 36k miles. I only have 23k miles and mine is an 02.
Well, the corrosion warranty covers "rust-through", so I guess you have to wait for a hole; but I sure thought it was longer than 36,000 miles. It seems that this is a result of another one of their cost saving measures.
Both my parents and I have extended cabs, and rust is heavily apparent on all doors and on the tailgate bottoms. I guess they used a different steel for the doors than they did for the body ?!? Anyway, I'm not happy with Ford's quality over this.
yea me too, i got some rust starting again after they fixed it the first time, although looks like fords attempt to fix it was slop some paint over it i wasnt happy so i brought it back and they fixed it again, looked good for a bit but its on its way back again and the tailgate i have same problem, i planned on keeping my truck along time but in a few years i might not have any door bottoms... i was told the rust warranty was 5 years so mine being an o2 i will bring my back in bout another year in a half...
they are goung to fix mine also. they say for customer satisfaction. it better not rust out again. hopefully they put new doors on it. that is the only way to fix it right.
