I have a 1998 4x4 which I always try to keep clean and wax often. After cleaning my truck the other day, I noticed on the bottom inside of the driver, and rear left passenger door, that it was starting to rust. Right at the point that the metal is folded inward it's starting to bubble up under the paint. I checked to make sure that my drain holes are not clogged which they are not. Does anyone else have rust starting to appear on their door?
I have the same problem with my 1999 f150 and its the exact way that you described it,in one particular area on the bottom of the driver side door the paint bubble has broken to reveal a rust spot, which is about the size of a dime. I couldnt believe that a truck that has only 25000 miles would be rusting!!!!!!!!!!!!. Has anyone approached a ford dealer about it? If so, what was there response?:
i was looking threw the ford tsb and saw were they were having a problem with the 2000 f-150 so i looked and both doors and tailgate were rusting less than 15,000 mile on truck. the tsb said condensation could have gotten in at assembley. ford dealer repair both 6 months ago so far so good.
