I have a 99 F350 that is wired from the factory for the trailer circuit. I know the center (6 contact plug) is constant on power. I guess this is for auxiliary power or trailer battery charging. I was using a test light and checking things out at the trailer connector and inadvertently shorted out this center auxiliary power circuit to ground. I no longer get a light when testing the center contact with ground. I have searched every fuse and can not find the problem. All other circuits on the connector are working. Is there some relay that I can’t find that may be damaged from the short. I appreciate any assistance on this matter.

In the Owner's manual....the fuse is 16 in the power distribution box under the hood.....as 4x4 said. I don't think that you can go by the lid for the location. It is the fourth big 30 amp. fuse in the row of seven.

Thanks for your response... Yes the trailer fuse box # 16 big 30 amp fuse is the first thing I checked (i checked all the fuses...). It looks fine. They are so big it’s pretty easy to check. That’s why I was assuming that there was some relay or regulator that metered the current to the trailer charging circuit. It’s got me frustrated now that I can’t find the problem (chuckle). I have two trailer connectors and neither one is working for the center contact. All other circuits work though...
There is a "Trailer Battery Charge" relay. It's in the small relay box near the brake cylinder. There are only two relays in the box, one being this one and the other relay is for the "Back Up Light" circuit.
It's a good idea when checking fuses to test for continuity across both ends or prongs of fuse. Sometimes it's hard to see a break visually.
I agree, pull the fuse and actually ohm it out. You might try switching the Tow relay with the Backup relay, it may have burnt the contacts in the relay. If you don't have a 7 pin plug then the aux back up relay will not be used any way.
