misfire

misfire

i have a 97 f 150 with a 4.6 number 4 cyl is misfiring any suggestions? the truck was tuned less than a year ago.

That year has plug wires right?? If so it could be either the plug is bad or the wire. If it is the plug change them all. If it is the wire then I would say again buy a new set and change them all. Most plug wires last about 100,000 miles. once one goes the others follow. watch your washing of the engine water can get down there and cause problems.

I have the same year and engine and have changed the #4 several times due to moisture getting down in there and if you look at the plug you will probably see black lines running down the side of the plug where it breaks down and shorts out in the hole .
