Advice about re-covering seats???
I am wanting to re-upholster my seats. They need some repair work too.
Anyhow, ?? arrises what sort of material to go with. Anyone tried some of the repro seat covers that are supposed to look pretty original?
The original seats didn't hold up too well, and as I recall, they were some sort of plastic stuff that was uncomfortable sweaty. Not as nice as modern.
But I'd like to go for original look too, so I am in a quandry.
Suggestions?????? Experience with reproduction covers??????

I don't know if this will help at all, but here goes any way about 25 years
ago I was fixing up a 69 ranger the seat was in real bad shape, but the foam
was real good so I ordered a nice seat cover from sears the kind that you
have to hog ring on it turned out real nice,it was made with cloth inserts.
Then about 22 years ago my uncle sent me a seat cover that was a repop
of a 71 seat cover, he wanted a different color ,at the time I had a 71 so I
thought that I would give a try again, it was the kind that hog ringed on
man did this one turn out very nice it looked factory! It was black plether hyde, if I wanted that again I would order the repro/ very good fit and very
durable!
P.S when I installed them it was cold so,I made sure I layed them by a heater.
