I've got two of them one with 46K Play truck and my work truck has 86K no problems at all with the running gear.

Smile Nervous!!

Thanks! fell across this deal. Grandpa and Grandma updated to a new rig. They Bought this 2000 from the dealer I looked at it at.. Has fifthwheel mount holes in bed and Airbag mounts as well. makes it easy for me to re-install. Drove the truck lots of power but first newer rig and alittle nervous.... Thanks Much

They increased the HP and touque in 2000 not 2001. the motors where the same from 2000 to 2004 when they went to the 3V heads.

that would be the pi heads they introduced to fix the plug blow out problem. the modular engines are very reliable and strong and will go a easy 250k with good maintaince. that year truck has very few issues and are good solid work trucks.

No, the 2000 still has 2 valve heads but the plug problem was fixed.

The 2000 thru 2004 model V10 pickups are rated at 310hp/425lb-ft. The 2005 model year V10s are upgraded to the 3 valve heads along with a bump in hp/torque ratings.

Mine just turned 33K miles without any engine or drivetrain issues whatsoever, and probably 5 to 10 thousand miles of that are towing mileage. Planning to keep it for 100K and then some if all goes well and I would easily recommend this engine/pickup to anybody as a medium and occasional heavy-duty work motor/truck.

I bought my 2000 F-250 V-10 from the dealer with 0 miles on it. Right now it has 95k on it without a single hiccup from the engine (some brake, ESOF hub, and ball-joint issues but no engine problems).
Still love it. It seems it always gets 13mpg +/- 0.5mpg no matter how I drive it (unless I'm towing the 5th wheel, then its 6-10mpg depending on headwind/tailwind).
